We drove from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas on Sunday. On the way we had the pleasure of having the “Best tasting water in the USA” at a restaurant in Beaver, UT. I must say that it was delicious. I asked the waitress about the water and she said up until five years ago, they were not even allowed to drink their water!
At the suggestion of a friend, we made a stop at Zion National Park. We did not have time to stay long, but saw enough to know that we will need to come back.
We arrived in Vegas at about 4:00PM local time. Peter stayed in the pool from then until 9:00PM. He really had a great time. The pool had a shark tank next to it with a waterslide that went through the middle of it. On Monday we hung out around the hotel and went over to New York, New York for lunch and to ride the roller coaster. Overall, Vegas was a good time. Honestly, Peter enjoyed it the most.
We’ll leave today and head home.

Pappas,
You mentioned Beaver, Utah so you will get a kick out of this one. My first name, Milo, came from a Mormon missionary from Beaver, Utah who was in NC in the 1920's. My father was named after Milo Baker, who was the town barber and lived into his 90's. I met Milo Baker in the 1970's at his barber shop in Beaver, Utah! Can't say that I've ever tried the water there, though.
Too bad you didn't have more time for Zion National Park. It is one of the best in southern Utah. I spent a summer in Utah with my best friend exploring ghost towns. There's one right at the south exit to Zion called Grafton. It is the town where parts of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were filmed. Remember the scene on the bicycle with Catherine ?? on the handlebars?
Vegas is too hot and too gaudy for me. I think, like you, that I prefer being out in nature. I can see how Peter would be ecstatic about it. Hope you enjoy Hoover dam.
Milo
